BIOGRAPHY

Steve Turner’s journey to becoming a certified chaplain is a testimony to God’s perfect timing and purpose. With a lifelong passion for the Lord, prayer, family, and sports, Steve watched as God wove these threads together into a calling he could have never orchestrated on his own. Stepping out in faith opened the door for him to live out the truth of Jeremiah 1:5: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

After earning his chaplaincy certification through the American Chaplains Association, Steve was invited to serve as chaplain for his football referee association—a role he has now held for two seasons. This unique ministry allows him to combine his love for sports with his heart for pastoral care, encouraging and supporting referees both on and off the field.

Steve believes there is no separation between chaplaincy and marketplace ministry—both are opportunities to shepherd, serve, and reflect Christ’s love in everyday life. Whether offering a prayer before the game, walking alongside someone in a moment of need, or quietly being a steady presence, Steve lives out his calling as both a chaplain and a marketplace shepherd, faithfully serving wherever God leads.
