Chaplaincy Certification Program

The American Chaplains Association offers a structured and accessible Chaplaincy Certification Program designed to equip individuals for effective ministry in a wide range of real-world settings. This fully remote, four-month program provides flexible, high-quality training that blends theological insight with practical application.

Program Delivery

All instruction is conducted via telephone and email to ensure accessibility for students nationwide. Each class session is recorded and delivered as an MP3 file, allowing students to review content at their own pace. Course materials are emailed one week prior to each session to support student preparation and engagement.

 

Tuition and Scholarship

  • Standard Tuition: $895.00

  • Discounted Tuition (25% Scholarship): $671.25 (when paid in full upfront)

  • Certification is awarded upon successful completion of all course requirements, including full tuition payment and submission of all quizzes.

Refund Policy:

  • Course fees and certification are non-refundable after 30 days from the date of purchase or once a course has begun, whichever comes first. All payments become final once either condition is met.

 

Course Modules

The program is composed of specialized modules led by experienced chaplains and subject matter experts. Each module is designed to prepare students for specific chaplaincy roles:

  • Introduction to Chaplaincy
    Establishes the foundation, expectations, and ethical standards of chaplaincy across various settings.

  • Military Chaplaincy
    Explores military culture and provides insight into supporting service members, veterans, and their families.

  • Hospital and Hospice Chaplaincy
    Covers best practices for offering spiritual care in medical and end-of-life environments.

  • Workplace/Marketplace Chaplaincy
    Equips students to serve in corporate, nonprofit, and community workplaces, providing faith-based support to employees.

  • Critical Incident Chaplaincy
    Prepares chaplains to respond compassionately and effectively during crises, trauma, or major incidents.

  • Jail and Prison Chaplaincy
    Trains chaplains to navigate correctional systems, ministering to inmates and staff within institutional guidelines.

  • Chaplains to Chaplains
    Encourages mutual care among chaplains, emphasizing peer support and strategies for preventing burnout.

 

Instructors

Courses are taught by certified chaplains and professionals with extensive field experience. Each instructor brings practical wisdom, theological grounding, and a passion for equipping the next generation of chaplains.
