Calling All Chaplains!
Wildfires continue to impact families across southern Georgia, leaving many in urgent need of support, prayer, and presence. In the midst of this devastation, there is a critical need for chaplains to step in and minister to those affected.
The Director of the Emergency Management Agency affirmed that the Emerge Chaplains Response Team will be recognized as the designated group responsible for providing spiritual support to all families affected by disasters in the state of Georgia moving forward.
Emerge Ministries is actively mobilizing chaplains certified by the American Chaplains Association to serve on the ground alongside other chaplains, providing spiritual care, prayer, and support to families walking through loss and uncertainty. This is a vital opportunity to be a steady voice of hope during a difficult time.
If you are a certified chaplain and feel called to serve, we invite you to join us in this response effort.

Dr. Jack Kelly,
Chairman American Chaplains Association
Wildfires continue to impact families across southern Georgia, especially in areas like Brantley, Clinch, and Atkinson Counties, where homes have been lost, and families have been displaced with little notice. The Southern Georgia fires have burned over 55,000 acres, with multiple fires still active across the region.
This week, Emerge Ministries has been actively deployed.
Our advance team has been on the ground working alongside local, state, and federal authorities to assist in the Multi-Agency Resource Center MARC, helping coordinate community support efforts for families affected by these fires. This week, our team is beginning site chaplain care and case management intake as we start our direct response efforts.
In partnership with Emergency RV and local businesses. Emerge Ministries is mobilizing a temporary housing response initiative for families displaced by the recent fires in Georgia. The current operational goal is to prepare and support 50 travel trailers to provide safe, stable emergency housing for families with children during this critical season of recovery.
To launch the first phase of this response effort, Emerge Ministries is establishing an initial fundraising goal of $100,000. THAT IS ONLY $2,000 PER FAMILY TO GET THEM INTO TEMPORARY HOUSING! These funds will help cover immediate deployment needs, including transportation and setup, temporary housing assistance, trailer maintenance and roadworthy preparation, and the operational coordination required to rapidly serve families in crisis. Continued assistance and long-term support efforts are evaluated on a case-by-case basis according to household need, financial hardship, and available resources.
Right now, Emerge Ministries is uniquely positioned to meet this urgent need. To make this possible, we are asking for YOUR support in connecting families to housing, care, and stability. At the same time, our Chaplain Response Team is serving by providing spiritual care, crisis support, prayer, and encouragement to families, first responders, and communities in need.
Please stand with us in prayer. Pray for protection over those still affected, for peace and healing for families who have lost homes, and for strength for first responders and chaplains on the ground.
